History:
Wiki
Takato started out as ordinary boy. He watched the Digimon television series and played the digimon card games. He even drew fanart of the series, but he always thought it was just a story. And then one day, one of his digimon drawings came to life as Guilmon. To Takato, it was like a dream had come true.

Takato and Guilmon quickly became best friends and partners. In between teaching his new partner about the human world, Takato met other children who had become partnered with digimon. He and Guilmon took on the job of fighting the Wild Ones, unpartnered digimon who were attacking the human world. They grew stronger and stronger as more powerful digimon began to invade the real world.

And then one of their digimon friends was kidnapped and taken to the digital world. Along with the other Tamers, Takato and Guilmon traveled to the digital world to rescue their friend. There they learned that Culumon was the source of all evolution in the digital world, and that the digital world was under attack by an obsolete security program. The D-Reaper had been programmed to delete anything that exceeded its programmed boundaries,  but it itself had evolved. And  it had decided that its new task was to delete everything.

But before anything could be done, they were attacked by Beelzemon, an old acquaintance who had agreed to destroy them all for power. He quickly defeated all the Tamers... and then he killed Leomon, one of the other Tamer's partners.

Takato and Guilmon lost themselves in their anger at Leomon's death. In his rage Takato ordered Guilmon to evolve to the Ultimate level for the first time. It went terribly wrong.  Guilmon evolved into Megidramon, a corrupted demon dragon that began to destroy the entire digital world just by existing.

Horrified at his own actions, Takato found the connection to Guilmon within himself, and returned his partner to his original self. And together, Takato and Guilmon evolved and became the holy knight Dukemon.

Together, they defeated Beelzemon. The Tamers retrieved Culumon and a repentant Beelzemon and returned to the human world. Only to discover that the D-Reaper had followed them home. It had kidnapped and replaced one of the Tamers with a puppet, and now it was attacking the human world with the aim of deleting everything.

With a lot of effort, Takato and Guilmon and the rest of the Tamers rescued their friend and defeated the D-Reaper. But it came at a cost. For a time, all the digimon were forced to return to the digital world.

REINCARNATION (Takato)
Name: Thomas "Thom" Tilly.
Age: 12
Appearance: Thom is a year older than Takato was at the end of the series, but his appearance has not changed significantly. The biggest change is that he never wears goggles on his head.
History: Thom grew up as the middle child of the Tilly family. He has led a very ordinary life up to now. He is a student in Year 8. He is very fond of animals and often volunteers at a nearby animal shelter.

REINCARNATION (Guilmon)
Name: Gizmo
Age: 6 months
Appearance: A rather scruffy looking half grown dog.
History: Gizmo was born at the animal shelter Thom volunteers at. He was listed for adoption for quite some time. At one point a family did try to adopt him, but returned him when they were unable to deal with a rambunctious puppy. When Thom came in one day to help feed the animals, he instantly got attached. He immediately began begging his family to let him have a dog. Despite the family's love for cats, he finally succeeded.
First Echo:
Echo: Gizmo's sentience.
Cause: As Guilmon, meeting Takato was really the beginning of his life. Guilmon entered the human world as a newborn digimon, and Takato was the very first person he met. They formed an almost instant connection, and Guilmon began his life. In meeting Thom and being adopted, Gizmo is also forming a connection and starting a new part of his life. Although Gizmo was adopted once before, it was by an older couple. They were kind, but returned him to the shelter quickly when it became obvious that a puppy wasn't a good match for their lifestyle, and Gizmo's relationship with them was rather distant in the brief time he was with them.  Like their first meeting, Gizmo's meeting with Thom is the first time he's had a close encounter with a child, and the first time he is starting a new part of his life with a child who can grow with him. The connection of friendship Gizmo forms with Thom on their meeting is also more similar to their previous first meeting, than the distant connection he had with his first adoption

PERSONALITY (Takato)
Pre-Incarnation Personality:
Takato is cheerful and kind-hearted, but prone to worrying. He is very creative, but often get carried away by his own overactive imagination. He often comes up with crazy hair-brained ideas, but most of the time they work. Takato isn't very good at explaining himself, and often tangles himself up in his own explanations, but he tries anyway.

He feels emotions deeply and is very sensitive towards the feelings of the people around him. Takato has a high degree of empathy, and truly wants to understand why the people around him feel the way the way they do. If they're sad, he'll do anything to cheer them up. He can be surprisingly observant when he wants to be, but also often misses the obvious.

He does not like fighting for its own sake. However he has an inner core of stubbornness and a strong sense of justice. If he sees a friend in trouble or an injustice happening he will throw himself into danger instantly.  He can be the bravest kid in the world when he doesn't realize what he is doing. At the same time he is prone to overthinking things. If he has time to think about or plan out his actions he can easily tie himself in knots fretting about all the ways their plans could go wrong.

Takato is usually very optimistic and easygoing, so much so that it is extremely difficult to truly make him angry. Even when someone is cruel to him he will often be more hurt and confused than angry. But on the rare occasion that something does infuriate him he will give himself over completely to his rage to a frightening degree. He doesn't stop to second guess himself or worry about other people getting hurt. He just goes straight for his target.

Any differences?:
With no Digimon franchise to become involved with in this world, Thom developed a number of other interests. He loves animals of all kinds, and often volunteers at local animal shelters. He also loves dinosaurs, and often entertains himself by drawing pictures of what they might have looked like. He has also taken interest in a number of different television franchises, and can happily explain any of them to anyone who will listen.

Being a middle child now, rather than an only child, Thom is less inclined to spend time alone. Rather than staying home and entertaining himself by drawing, he would rather go out and do things. He still doesn't like it when people fight, but now he is more inclined to take an active role and negotiate an end to it.

Being part of a large family, he is more socially aware and confident when dealing with people outside the family, He slightly more adept at talking to people and isn't quite as prone to tying himself up in conversational knots.

PERSONALITY (Guilmon)
Pre-Incarnation Personality:

Guilmon genuinely enjoys fighting and growing stronger, but he is also cheerful and naive.  He is very young in some ways. He’s been alive for less than two years, and he has the inexperience that comes with that. But he also possesses a simple kind of wisdom.  Sometimes he can see things more clearly than any of the other characters. He is very much a character who lives in the moment, and doesn't see the need to worry about the past or future.

Guilmon's favorite things are bread, Takato and playing. He has complete faith that Takato has all the answers, and that as long as they are together they can conquer everything.

He is rarely afraid of anything, but gets very upset when Takato has arguments with him.  He seems to be most afraid when Takato is in danger or separated from him. Guilmon is easily lead by his stomach, and can be very easy to trick.

.

Any differences?:
As a rather large and scary looking red dinosaur Guilmon had to learn that people could be afraid of him and that it was sometimes necessary to hide from them. Gizmo understands none of that. Because of that he is more social, and likely to actively seek out new people, but also more naive in this way.

Gizmo adores Thom and the Tilly family, but because of the incident where he was returned to the shelter he is somewhat insecure about his place in the family.

Gizmo will fight if cornered, but unlike Guilmon he does not enjoy it.. Not being a digimon anymore, that feral part of his character that came from the programming that drove digimon to fight each other and grow stronger is gone.

Abilities:

  • Guilmon's Abilities
    • Digging.
    • Guilmon has an excellent sense of smell, and can smell and follow different kinds of data from a long distance.
    • Fireball attack
  • Empathic Connection
    • Takato and Guilmon have a strong empathic connection.
    • They sometimes can hear each other from a long distance away, or simply seem to know that the other needs them. They have also had conversations inside Takato's mind.
    • Takato can give Guilmon his own energy to help him become stronger for a short time.
    • When Guilmon gets hurt in a fight, Takato also feels the pain.
    • They are connected through a device called a D-ARC, which was created to bring children and digimon together. Through it, Takato can power up Guilmon with cards, see through Guilmon's eyes and identify other digimon, and eventually allow Guilmon to evolve.
  • Cards
    • Takato can use the cards from the Digimon card game to temporarily power Guilmon up and give him temporary additional attacks and abilities.
  • Blue Card
    • Takato can turn any card into a blue card simply by wishing for it. A blue card is a card with a special algorithm on it that is designed to connect humans and digimon. Takato's card reader became his digivice when he first used a blue card on it. A blue card can also be used to evolve Guilmon to his perfect level, provided a source of power could be found.
  • Evolution
    • Takato can send his energy to Guilmon to allow him to evolve to higher levels. This requires an evolutionary catalyst that may not be available until they can access the Digital World.
    • Growmon is the adult level form. Essentially he is a much larger version of Guilmon, about the size of a small house. This level can only be reached through a digital evolution catalyst and a certain level of trust between digimon and tamer.
    • Megalogrowmon is the perfect level form. At this level Guilmon becomes an enormous cyborg dinosaur. To put the size in context, Takato is the height of one of his claws, This level can only be reached by combining a blue card with a digital evolution catalyst and Takato's energy.
    • Dukemon is the ultimate level form. At this level Takato and Guilmon merge together into a holy knight digimon. In order to do this in the real world Takato must be transformed into data as he was near the end of his canon.
    • Megidramon is an alternate ultimate level form, caused when Takato was lost in rage and ordered Guilmon to evolve to ultimate. It is very unlikely that this form will ever appear.
    • Dukemon Crimson Mode is a mode change of  the ultimate level form, created when the dragon Grani merged with Takato and Guilmon as Dukemon. It gives them wings and more powerful weapons

Um, hello? Can anyone hear me?

Am I using this thing right?

My name is Takato, and I think I'm lost. Um, very lost? I mean, the last thing I remember I was in Shinjuku. And this doesn't look anything like that.

[The boy sighs and glances off to the side.]

I don't think this is working, Guilmon. I'm sure I must have done something wrong. Are you sure you can't smell anything familiar?

[The video feed is greeted to a close up of red scales and teeth, until he takes a step back and reveals himself to be something like a miniature dinosaur.]

Hello? [He taps the device curiously with one claw..] Is someone there? I'm Guilmon! Has anyone seen Takato? Guilmon really wants to find him.

This looks like the talking thing Takato had, but Guilmon isn't sure.

[His ears droop.] And now Guilmon is hungry, but there isn't any bread here. Not even the Guilmon bread Takato makes.
